Sample Collection
Sampling is a crucial part of the analytical process. When trying to establish the homogeneity of a lot, several samples should be taken from the lot of material and analyzed individually. When checking for inclusion of ingredients in blended material, several samples should be taken and composited for analysis. The sample should be large enough to ensure that it is representative. For most analyses, a 100 g (4 oz.) sample is adequate.
